The Availability Manager must compute and track all agreed key performance indicators for Technology Availability
Management and report the same to relevant stakeholders at an agreed frequency. The technology availability service
levels, along with exceptions and changes to the Technology Availability Plan must be reported. The Technology
Availability Plan can be used as a basis for reporting progress on the agreed action points to keep the availability of
the IT Infrastructure and its resources at agreed levels.
The Technology Availability Report should also contain details on the data sources used for availability calculation,
availability targets, computation logic, list of business accepted risks and changes that will influence availability
of the service.
Few examples of technology availability measures include:
-
Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF)
-
Mean-Time-To-Restore Service (MTTRS)
-
Mean-Time-Between-System-Incidents (MTBSI).
